Just to put in my two cents... here in cold snowy Canada I transport
Louise & Ruby on the inside of my down jacket! I just tuck them in
and hold them up with one hand. I am always holding them like that,
so it feels comfortable to them and they always gurgle and coo (I
think it's Guinea Pig for "Warm & safe! Warm & safe!"). For driving
to the vet I let them sit on my lap in my coat, or hold them near my
heart and drive with one hand. I have never travelled with both at
once, I would need a new technique, I think, but this has worked out
well for me in the past, and they are snug and secure in my coat.
Okay, once Ruby peed on my shirt... she was a babe, and the vet left
me alone in the office so I could wash it in her sink!
In the summer I took Louise to the corner store with me all the time
cause I hated to let her go. The man who works there greets her by
name! Sometimes he asks about her, and I tell him it's too cold for
her to go gallivanting around on errands. But he looks forward to
seeing her in the summer... he says he'll keep some carrots on hand!
