[Gpdd] misc. (salt blocks)

Hi! I keep seeing salt blocks in the pet stores for guinea pigs (and other rodents) to gnaw on. Does anyone know if these are okay for piggies. Will all that extra salt hurt them? Also can they break their teeth since the chews are so hard? I have a hanger that you attach toys onto and instead of chewing the toys he chews the metal! Will that hurt his teeth? I'm afraid he will break them! Sorry for all the questions. Thanx!
