Hi Beth,
     My guess is that someone's grease gland is activated (dragging their 
bottoms?). Can I assume these are two males? I think it's a macho territorial 
thing. 
     There is the very small chance of anal impaction in your older board but 
he's only a year old. Unlikely!!
