Shannon,
It sounds like your pig may have had an impaction. How
old is your pig? Sometimes older boars get impactions
due to loss of muscle tone in the anus, or if they are
ill. You said he was eating drinking and pooping
normally before, so it may be that he got some poops
caught in the hair. Boars like to drag their rumps
around, so it's possible that he got stuff stuck in
there. Boars that live in a small cage and don't get
enough exercise can get impacted too--I found this out
the hard way, when I was new to the piggy world and
doing everything wrong!
I'd keep an eye out to see if it happens again. It
could be just a one-time thing, but if it starts
happening frequently you may need to see a vet.
Oh- and the smelly discharge is normal. Boys are
stinky like that : )
