If you can find a place that sells animal feed, you can find bedding for a
fraction of the cost.  I use pine shavings and I can get a very large bag,
close to 50 pds. for $5.10.  I've heard that pine shavings are not good
because it gives the little guys respiratory problems, but this is what I
do.  I take the little tikes out and put them in a larger pen (floor time)
and change their bedding.  Then after their daily pen is all cleaned up, I
put them back in.  I like the shavings because they are very soft to the
touch.  I got pine chips once and I threw them out.  There were a lot of
sharp edges.  I was afraid that these shavings would pierce their little
eyes.
