Hi all-
I have never heard the rumbling noise in conjuntion with things that guinea
pigs like. If I've heard it out of any of my six, it usually means something
is ticking them off. This includes water, me rubbing them the wrong way,
loud noises, and the trespass of another guinea pig. Oh yeah, and when they
are maybe trying to fight someone off who is "in the mood". It not in my
experience that they rumble when you are petting them because the like what
you are doing. However, I've been known to tick mine off for fun. They do
catch on and realize that I'm messing with them,so its hard to tell. Simon
hates to be touched under his chin. I do it anyway, and he gets revenge on
me by latching on and refusing to give back the shoelace I use to tie on his
water bottle. Or kicking loads of poop and bedding out of his cage. He's a
little fellow with a big brain-I think he has at least a ten word
vocabulary. So I know he does things with intent. Rusty "supposedly" hates
being chased around his cage and will rumble, but I catch him popcorning
when I do it, or not long after I do it. The only real certainty is when
they chomp you :)
Jackie- and simon, rusty, jasmine, sabrina, jezebel and lucy.
