Ann-
How is Pig-Pig doing? We hope she is doing well. From your description, it sounds
like she is mostly recovered. One thing occurred to me as I read your recent post -
since we moved, the OPs don't run around like they used to when they do get put
down on the floor. I think they feel in danger - it's a strange place to them, and they
are just reluctant to move around much. While you may be in the same place, maybe
since her illness she doesn't feel as safe on the floor. It could be she is just a bit older
and doesn't feel like doing childish things - Snowy & CP haven't run and popcorned like
they did at first for quite a while now. Is the floor warm? Maybe she would benefit from
continuing the 'go juice' (LW loves his crangrape cocktail that is spiked with vitamins).
Another thing occurred to me - recently when I panicked over LW bleeding after his
pedicure, getting quicked on one nail, I contacted Tex to be sure what I should do or
watch for. He related a story about one of his who would put on an act for attention
but drop the act when he thought no one was watching! LW, of course, made a full
and quick recovery, but he certainly made the most of the attention he got that evening!
After Snowy had LW (and dear Primoz), she never regained her girlish figure, preferring to
enjoy every bite of anything she could get. It was suggested by more than one experienced
person that she might benefit from a diet and/or exercise - the good doctor Wallis even
suggested a treadmill! That's when we devised the Piggie Parade. Every day, when they
got down on the floor, we would have a special parade round and round the room, up and
down the hall, singing the Piggie's Piggity-Pie song, following the parslies (parslies being
key to the whole thing!). At the conclusion of the parade, prizes of parslies would be
awarded to the first one, the next one, and the next one, etc - each one getting 'the very
biggest piece'. Then I would 'hide' parslies around the 'playground', so they had to move
around. And with more than one pig to compete with, they got it in gear, trying to get
the most parslies. We all really enjoyed this, and look forward to getting into our own
place again so we can start up the Piggie Parades again. Snowy may not be the most
athletic of the OP's, but she will move for food!
Hope this will inspire Pig-Pig a bit!
