Hello everyone,

This is in response to how to trim a squirmy piggy's toenails (I erased the
original post by accident and I can't remember who was asking for
info...sorry!)

My Piggy is extremely squirmy and aggitated when it comes time to trim the
nails also, so it's usually a two- person, one- pig stressful affair. My vet
recomended a method that zoo keepers use with baby animals to feed them etc
without them moving around or trying to get away. He said to wrap the GP in
a 'piggy burrito' by wraping a towel around the GP's body, but not tooooo
tightly. This, he said, would create a lot of support for the GP's spine, ribs
and organs when you're holding him for the nail trimming as he's squirming
around. This way he won't cause any injury to himself. This is the process he
uses to trim toenails for exotics that won't sit still and it works great for
him. I tried it on my own, but my Piggy is as keen about being a 'piggy
burrito' as he is about getting his nails clipped, so it doesn't really work
for me, but it does for some people who have really cranky animals when it
comes to nail clipping.

I know the orignal post was asking for a way to make the piggy less stressed
out, but I've tried everythng with mine and nothing works, He hates getting
his nails clipped and always will, so I just try to make it as quick as
possible.
Hope this helps,

Ana and Piggy
