Lokai is going to have to have a couple of teeth removed!

After over a year of having her teeth trimmed quarterly, her vet has decided that they need to be removed. It seems that due to the poor diet that I fed her when she first came to be one of my fur babies combined with genetic problems due to inbreeding, she has ended up with GP dental disease. (Her litter mate Tribble is as healthy as a horse.) I've changed her diet as the vet recommended, but it has not helped much. If only I had known more when I first got my fur babies!!

There are a few reasons why I am having this done in a few weeks. Her dental disease is causing chronic sinus infections due to the overgrown teeth. Every 3 months, she has to go under anesthesia for the tooth trim and that is not good for her. (She handles it extremely well, but I still worry.) Last but not least is that she is costing me a fortune.

So, my special needs girl will have a few teeth extracted on March 8. The vet took the time to explain things to me and he has been wonderful with both of my girls. If he weren't here, I'd have lost the Lokester about 2 years ago.
