Hello Robert

They will bicker more in a smaller cage. The larger
cage may solve the problem. Their will always be a
little bickering though. It is the ways of the guinea
pig herd. There has to be an Alpha pig established and
your two are probably just doing that now.

As long as they don't use their teeth or go into a
fighting, fur-flying roll around the cage, then they
should be fine together. Mine have little arguments
all the time over food or the water bottle. They seems
to enjoy running each other out of a warm igloo and
taking that spot, as well. It helps on the fighting to
have two food bowls and water bottles too.

Just keep an eye on them to make sure their is no
broken skin on either one. If they would happen to
get in a big fight, you will have to run a line of
cubes down the middle of the cage to separate them.
They seem to get along fine when separated but can
still smell noses through the cubes.

I've never had two that got along well enough to be
housed together after a really big fight. They tend to
hold grudges and sometimes they just decide to hate
one for some reason. Your two don't sound too bad
right now though. Good luck and enjoy!
