Hi all,

I have apparently started a retirement home division for those older surrendered pigizens as I have three now: Murray, the one with the ever increasing mammary tumor; Sonny, a boar of unknown age but minimally four; and his honey through bars, Tabasco, a sow who is at least five years old.

Tabasco has very bulgy eyes. So is this symptomatic of something? Or are some pigs just bulgy-eyed pigs?

I am still frightened for Murray to put him through surgery. He breathes harder than any of my other ones and because I don't "know" know him, I don't know of it is due to distress or is just him. He still eats and drinks like a trooper. He backwashes into his bottle somehow though. Very, very yucky!

We will be making another trip to the vet's next week for these new seniors so I will bring Murray again too. I just want their last years to be happy and as healthy as possible.

OH! Good news! My Guinness with allergies to bedding and hay which has been mostly resolved by towel use is being adopted to be a companion to a pig! And they are fleece users so he is going to do so well there! I am so pleased for him. He has been through so much. She also has a good vet but I wanted to share our good news since you have all contributed advice during Guinness' troubles!

I am so sorry to hear of all of the pigs who have passed to the bridge. It is always so sad and everypig here at the rescue wanted to send out pig kisses to all who are grieving for the loss of their loved ones.

Be well everyone,
Lisa and the gang at Wheeks and Squeaks, including the retired pigs Murray, Sonny, and Tabasco
