[Gpdd] [HEALTH] <arthritis in guinea pigs>

Does anyone have a guinea pig with arthritis and they are treating them 
for it?  Satchel has arthritis in the lower lumbar region.  Our vet 
tried acupuncture on him but he turned out to not be a good candidate 
for it.  He wouldn't sit still and shook the needles out.  She 
prescribed some Chinese Herbal medication called Body Sore.  He really 
hates it though.  I've tried mixing it  with water and apple juice but 
that doesn't help.  I'm supposed to mix one pill with 1cc of water and 
then he gets .20cc of the mixture twice a day.  I've had to mix it with 
more liquid but evening mixing it into an additional 1.30cc of apple 
juice didn't work.  Tonight I'm going to try mixing it with banana but 
I doubt he will eat it because it will smell bad and taste bad too.
I'd like to hear what others have tried or heard about for treating 
their arthritic guinea pigs.
