Metacam can be used for pain relief (although in the UK it is licensed for
dogs, it is prescribed for guinea pigs), and I believe the same is also
true of Rimadyl.  I have heard from a vet that the benefit of these two is
that there is not such a high risk of stomach irritation as there is with
other NSAIDs such as aspirin and ibuprofen.
