[Gpdd] Health: Snickers surgery

Hi y'all :)

Yesterday I wrote to you about Snowball's teeth. Today I thought I would
ask you a question about a comment Snickers' vet made yesterday after
his surgery on these two masses he had. Yeah I got to have two major vet
appointments yesterday at different clinics for each piglet. My sweet
piglets have had a rough summer.

Anyway they did blood work on Snickers before surgery and most
everything looked fine except she was concerned that he had some
elevated levels in his liver. She didn't know what it meant but planned
to look into it and get back to me.

So I just wondered if anyone might hazard a guess or if that is
something you have experienced with your guinea pigs? I was just
reasoning the most obvious thing, because I don't have much medical
experience. I mean the liver's function is to help wash toxins out of
the body, right? So that means he is fighting something off? Like from
his diet or from the masses?

I know it's just guessing at this point but it is troublesome so I
thought if anyone has any ideas it might start me in the right direction
and I could start gathering more info to be prepared when I talk to the
vet. They sent the masses to a lab to be identified because his previous
lab test was inconclusive because there were not enough cells to
determine what sort of thing it was.

Handsome little Snickers has had it rough the last couple of days. You
know it is hard to see him "not himself" but he is doing a lot of
resting and recovering, so that must be the right thing he needs to do.
Everyone needs their quiet time. All last night he just stayed in his
tunnel that Priscilla's Guiness gave him for Christmas. Even when
picking him up I picked up the tunnel so as not to hurt his incisions. I
hope he is not suffering (he has Metacam for pain, hope it's enough)

All hail to the noble guinea pigs,

Carla, Snickers and Snowball
