[Gpdd] [Announce] Scooter Made His Final Trip...

I know that the lists I'm on cater to our love of guinea pigs.. But I must
sadly announce that my gerbil, Scooter crossed the bridge early this morning
between 4am and 10am...

Scooter was a crazy gerbil purchased by my principal for the kids at our
school.  He came to us with his brother Skeeter.  I'd check on the boys at
school and then on vacations, I'd take them home with me.. They would annoy
us at the beginning with the exercise wheel screeching at odd hours of the
night.  We finally learned to take the wheel out before going to bed!  LOL..
My future mother-in-law enjoyed seeing the gerbils "wave" to her.. They
would scratch and scratch at the glass, making it look as if they were
waving..

The boys were seperated last summer when Skeeter got sick and crossed the
bridge.. I worried that since they were so close that Scooter would soon
follow.  He proved to be very strong and continued his little life until
early in the hours this morning.. My mom and I were painting my soon to be
stepson's bedroom so he could come home to a new room for his own.  I
checked on Brownie and Scooter before turning in as I always do and Scooter
was happily sleeping in his cage.  I came downstairs and Scooter had crossed
over..  I have left him in his cage for the past 2 hours so he can just
"relax" in his home before his funeral this afternoon.  I'm sure the boys
are happily playing at the bridge because they missed each other so much.
Please think of Scooter today.. We miss him already..
