[Gpdd] [Announcement] Cally went to the Bridge

It is with a heavy heart that I must inform the GPDD that Cally went to the Rainbow Bridge yesterday, Tuesday. She was six years and six months of age. Some of you may remember her from our virtual adventures to the grand opening of the Pig's Ears Bar and the laying of the last poo at Cape Alava. She was a plump, good humored piggy with a very feminine side which lent well to our stories of romance, dress-up and adventure. She will be truly missed by this, now pigless, household where the opening of a refrigerator is no longer heralded by excited wheeks and demands for a bit of lettuce. 

Her year-long affliction with gastroparesis was well controlled with Cisapride and she behaved as if in fine health until Sunday when she was a bit off feed. By Monday, she had stopped eating and pooping and seemed in pain so we took her to the vet. An X-ray showed intestinal bloating, bladder stones, an abdominal tumor, significant vertebral arthritis and worst of all, congestive heart failure with a greatly enlarged heart and fluid infiltrating the lungs. We took her home with lots of medications and did all we could but she was much worse the next day so, after a discussion with the vet, we decided that it would be best to have him help her to the Bridge, which we did. Alge, please break the news to Cooders for me. I know he will be sad but please know that Cally will be waiting for him at the Bridge. Rod, if you read this, a rainbow next to number 2431 please.
