Our new baby is here!

We met Penny at the Spencer, Ma. fairground where there was a GP and rabbit
show. We watched some of the GP showing and the judging is very
interesting. Penny did very well with her Teddys. I saw Americans,
Crested, Teddys, Abbys and one Silkie being shown. There were all colors
and some Satins, too.

This is to formally introduce Peaches n Cream to the group. And the winner
of the Name the Piggie contest is (drumroll, please) Penny Christopher!

We didn't plan on introducing Peaches and Juliet so soon, but they showed so
much interest in each other through the cage wire, Joe let them in together
under our supervision. At first Juliet did a lot of smelling Peaches with
some rumblestruting and teeth chattering. Peaches responded in her little
baby chattering which completely threw Juliet off! "Well this little thing
doesn't seem to be a threat," she seemed to think. Next thing we saw was
Juliet, all three pounds of her, popcorning around the cage! She was
licking Peaches, running and chasing her, both of them chattering away. I
haven't seen Juliet move so much in a long time.

Joe and I are so happy they are getting along. The cage is big enough (a
little over 5' x 2') for Peaches to get away from Juliet if she wants to.
There are lots of tunnels and
hay to hide and play in. I am near them now and there is so much piggie talk
going on,
it is so cute. It is almost as if Peaches baby chatter invoked some mother
instinct in Juliet, where Honey being an older pig, chattered her teeth back
at Juliet, and was seen as a
threat.

Peaches has found the food bowls, but I haven't seen her drink yet. There
is food and water at both ends of the cage so they shouldn't fight over it.
Peaches got some of the veggies for supper, but Juliet ate most of it.
Hopefully the novelty will wear off soon and Juliet won't be so interested
in Peaches, and they will both settle down. Juliet is having a tough time
keeping
up with Peaches! They are going to keep us up all night!

I will post pigtures on my web site soon. Will let you know.

I just noticed it is quiet in the cage. I am going to sneak a peek. Juliet
is resting in her house and Peaches is sleeping near her. Success!

Dee and Joe, happy slaves to Juliet and Peaches. Our house has happy piggie
noises again :)

Peaches: Wow, what a big cage and a new playmate, too. Tag you're it, big
girl. Catch me!

Juliet: Wait (puff puff), I'm going to chase you into the hay pile (pant
pant) you noisy little piggie! Gotta rest now.
