Hi Jodi

So sorry to hear that Gussie has teeth and foot trouble. What I have
found can give relief in cases of foot problems is bubble wrap. I put it
in the floor of the cabin, then kitchen paper on the top, then newspaper
followed by hay and bedding, *BUT* please make sure he can't get to it
to eat it. I put the bubble side down so the wee can't collect in
puddles (the kitchen paper soaks it up and is changed every day). It will
make the floor softer so that moving around won't be so
uncomfortable...tricky for free-rangers, but you might be able to prepare
a sufficient area for Gussie to use.

Once you have a diagnosis and treatment, you might find a little
help with exercise might be of assistance, but check with your vet first
that it is OK. The sort of thing I am thinking of is gently working his
hind legs backwards and forwards two or three times, one at a time, to
build up the strength once the tenderness and swelling has gone.

Also, please make sure he has something to eat when he has the metacam to
protect the stomach as it can cause gastro-intestinal irritation.

Get well soon, Gussie, and poorly piggies everywhere

Kay
