Actually, it never seems to me like Sam drinks that much nowadays.  He
used to drink almost 1/2 a bottle of water a day.  Then he got lonely and
depressed so he stopped eating a drinking almost entirely, then we got
Rosie and I only ever really see her drinking water.  I do see him drink
occasionally, not often.

It could be emotional.  I had a dog that wouldn't eat every time I would
go back to college when I visited home.  If he seems fine otherwise, I
think I would just keep a close eye on him to see if anything changes.  If
it doesn't and all functions seem normal, I would take that to be his
personal nature.
