[Gpdd] [HEALTH] slow eating

Hi, friends. I've never posted before but let me introduce myself! (I've
been reading the digest for about a month or so). I am the Mom of 2 great
kids (3yo son, Matthew & 9yo daughter, Morgan). Our piggies really belong
to Morgan but they've won my heart! (just call me grandma, hehe) Anyway,
their names are Frodo & Sam (all of you 'Lord of the Rings' fans out there
will appreciate those names!--Morgan is a huge fan). Well, Sam is truly a
piggy. He eats enough to make a mother proud! Frodo, on the other hand,
seems to be slowing down. I can't say, for sure, that he's lost weight but
I can tell Sam is surpassing him in size even though Frodo is about 13mo's
old & Sam is probably about 10mo's old.

Frodo has never really been very active, really. I saw him popcorn the
other night but I haven't seen him do that in months. He's really kind of
shy & would rather stay in his igloo (fyi: we have a c&c cage) than come out
to play. Sam has enough personality for both of them & is quite active &
funny.

My question is, should I be concerned about his molars already (@ this young
age)? I didn't know if they could be causing him problems already. (or
maybe their's something else going on?) This morning he didn't eat any of
his goodies except a little of the carrots that Morgan willed him to eat.
(we give them a hodgepodge diet of apples, grapes, carrots, cilantro,
parsley, green pepper, kale & oranges once a day & also timothy hay &
pellets for grazing). Today we added pear to their diet...is pear OK? I'm
not sure I should be freaking out, but I don't want to wait too long to do
something either.

Can anyone shed some light on this from their own experience/knowledge base?
Please!? We love Frodo so much & want him to be well taken care of!

Thanks so much,
Lesa
