  Did you know?
Guinea pigs originally came from South America. They're larger than
hamsters, but smaller than rabbits. They generally live for five to
seven years, and are very sociable animals.

Critter Connection
When Molly, the therapy guinea pig at Williamstown (MA) Commons Nursing
and Rehab Center, died suddenly, Activity Director Janice Paquette
turned to Petfinder.com to find a replacement. Spike and Ike from

(http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/CT208.html) in Durham, CT, now give
residents of the center their own loving "critter connection."

"The plan is for them to become Registered Therapy Pets through the
Delta Society as Molly had become," Janice says. Then Spike and Ike
will visit other local nursing homes and perhaps hospitals as well.

Maybe all of the rescuers on the GPDD can add their rescue to this topic
in support of Adopt-A-Rescued-Guinea-Pig Month!
