[Gpdd] Health: Calico & Collecting Urine Sample

Debra,
I am so Sorry to hear that Calico
is not doing so well, poor little
guy. Were you able to bring him
back for x-rays? And if so, did he
have a stone? I hope not. I know
that you figured out a way to collect
urine, but I'm going to tell you how
I do it, just in case it may help
out other Slaves. For Brownie Bear,
I will take a urine sample every
few months (I used to do it almost
everyday when she was going through
her bladder stone stuff). Well, I
use the smallest size top of a
Tupperware container (it's a round top
and it's about 2 inches in diameter)
and so I will watch Brownie Bear for
a while until I see her squat down to
urinate. Then, I just hold the top
under her bottom area and wah-lah! I
get a urine sample. Sometimes, B-Bear
will be stubborn and she will hold her
pee just to spite me. Well, no problem.
Cuz then I'll just syringe her some
plain water. And Poof! I got my urine
sample. :-)
