Donna,
Since you live near a big city, you should be able to find a piggy at a 
local animal shelter. I know San Antonio has a really nice shelter, so 
I'm assuming Houston should have a decent one as well. You can also try 
going to  http://www.petfinder.org/
You can do a search for piggies in your area.
