Joanne-
i will whisper so harvey doesn't hear, he may get nervous . . . i felt the
same way when i decided to take lw in for alterations. he seemed so
bewildered afterward, but got lots of tlc (he has really learned how to
milk a situation for maximum attention). He was on layers of clean
towels which were changed at least twice a day, lifted carefully for
little hugs, etc, and he healed nicely. The operation in one sense
was not a success, i had hoped it would mellow him out like a cat
or dog so he would once again get along with daddypuff - no such
luck. he still thinks he's the studboy, but at least there were no
resulting pregnancies. he's been very happy with rosie, i don't think
either one of them wanted children anyway ;-)
if your vet is experienced with gp's all should go well (be sure they
don't try to tell you not to feed him starting the night before, he
must eat as usual)
(shhhhhh)
