Carole,
My Brownie Bear went through
something similar back in November.
Her backs legs were sort of dragging
behind her when she would jump in
her tent. And I, too, was concerned
about giving her calcium because
she has had bladder stones in the
past (and suffers with bladder
sludge). So, I decided to go with
the extra Vitamin C supplements
and then if that didn't work, then
I would give her extra calcium. Well,
the Vit C supplements worked! And
that Sassy Bear perked right up. I
never even had to give her the calcium
(which I was happy about).

Now, I don't want to criticize your
Vet, but I would think that he/she would
have suggested the Vit C as a minimum,
because Scurvy can cause back-leg
paralysis. And as for the Osteocare,
it's not like you are going to give
it to Brownie forever. Plus, unless
Brownie has suffered with bladder stones
or sludge, then I don't know why your
Vet would tell you not to use this
product. (???)

Oh, by the way, the Vit C supplement
that I use is Oxbow's apple-flavored
Vit C tablets.

Please let us know how Brownie is doing
and we'll be keeping her in our thoughts
and Prayers.

  Love 'n Wheeeeeeeeeeeps,
     Leah...Slave to BB & BS :-)
