[Gpdd] Care: Leaking water bottles

We haven't used those different type of water bottles you mentioned, Alge, but I've noticed
most everyone at the shows uses them. They don't leak like the others when traveling.
Sometimes ours drip a bit if I don't seal them well. There is usually some instructions on
the package, but basically they tell you to fill it clear up to the top, and to get all the air
out before putting the lid on. When I get this done correctly we don't have any leaks. But
sometimes I overdo it and the pigs can't get the water out! So I check all the bottles frequently.
But then there is Snowy. She likes to hog the water bottle. She'll sit there at the bottle, take
a quick drink, then swish it around in her mouth a minute, think about it , then get another
drink and start all over! That is why we had to go to two water bottles in the condo. Now allpigs
have two bottles per pen, so one can't monopolize the water! We also have flat bricks beneath
all the water bottles; they do get we occasionally, but I just change the paper under it, it is
so good to keep their toenails filed down. I've thought about putting something under the
brick to catch (or drain away) the water, but haven't decided what to try.
Cecelia- Your little guys will soon calm down, more loving and calm attention will surely
help Porgie. Too bad about his IBS - there's no aggravation from his diet? Maybe he doesn't
tolerate some food he's getting well. Is he eating lots of hay? Have you tried diapers? hehehe
I was just thinking, you could have named him Forest . . . (for when Sonic warns him you're
coming! ;-) Have you researched the IBS online ? That can be a mess, and you do have to
stay on top of it. Once CP had gotten one smashed onto a toe and I didn't notice it right away;
by the time I noticed it, it was hard, and the same color as his foot, so I thought there was
something wrong with his toe. Took him to the vet (for his manicure), and the vet figured it
out - boy, was I embarrassed! So now I carefully clean their feet before they go for a manicure!
But maybe the attention Porgie is getting will help him get used to you (just pick him up once
in a while just for a hug, or a treat!).
Carla- Were those the DoublePig Girls you saw? That must be what CP and the boys were
talking about the other night . . .
Snowy wants to know if she can be picked up before the RV heads across the Pond. She
is not afraid of water (in fact, she is not afraid of anything, until it makes a loud noise), and
would most enjoy seeing the sights (especially those EuroPigs!) She's hoping Gareth will
invite her for a ride on his yacht (I told her it looked a bit small for a yacht, but you can't
tell her anything!). She will remain packed and at the ready - just give her a few minutes
to walk to the door.
