You were there to ease my pain
To mend my broken heart
I watched you come into this world
Silver and white you were.
The sweetest little boy
I had to keep
Twitches of your ears
nibbles and licks you gave
Rarely a wheek
Nor a squeak.
We had a special bond
even if it were for a short time.
It is time for me to say goodbye 
though my heart is aching
and breaking once again
as I watch you slowly fade out of this world.
Who is going to mend my heart
And ease my pain now that you are gone?
 
I'll never forget you my sweet little Flintster.  See you at the Bridge.
