Leah,

Just catching up. It is so time consuming working and taking care of a dog and a sick guinea pig. I swear I am the only one that lives here with all these animals.

Thank you for the special prayers for Flint. As you may have known, I had Flint neutered back in September. All was going well until his next vet appt for a recheck and I noticed a lump. It was an abscess which I dreaded. The vet lanced and drained it and had a drain inserted. I gave him 10 days of Baytril and I was flushing it with Chlorhexidine 3 times a day. He also had an E-collar on which he hated. Well he removed the E-collar several times while I was at work. I came home, checked on him and he just sat there looking up at me innocently sitting next to his collar. I put it back on and it wasn't easy. He gave me a good fight. Poor little guy. Well last Wednesday, I got up and he did it again. I was going to flush him but when I picked him up and looked at his drain, it was gone! I and my husband looked all over the cage, in the towels, it was gone. I took him to the vets immediately after carefully cleaning out his wound.

The vet just cleaned him out again and put another E-collar on him with a harness that he CAN'T get off. He hates it so much. I am still flushing him with chlorahexidine and also applying MalOtic. His scab finally came off this morning. It is looking good.

The vet said he developed an abscess there because of the sutures didn't dissolve like they were suppose to and it was where the vet closed off his tunic.

Regarding his tooth, I think he hit it against something, his water bottle or his food bowl when trying to get the E-collar off. The vet trimmed the other one to match. He is doing well. Still holding his weight.

I don't know how much more I can take of this. This pig is driving me to worry too much. Wonder my hair isn't all gray yet. ;) I hope nothing else goes wrong with him, he has been through enough this past month. Poor little guy just wants to be with all his girlfriends.

Please continue keeping him in your thoughts and prayers. This little guy is very special to me.

Thanks. Wheeks,
Lisa and the Guinea Girls and the lonely boar, Flint (wonders if he'll ever get to be with his girlfriends)
