[Gpdd] [BEHAVIOR] Biting piggie

My piggie Lucy Sophie Cavy-Piggie bites when she is being carried to and from her Piggie Penthouse. I think she is nervous lest we drop her, and I think that we are holding her very securely...she has a towel that she loves to sit on, and we usually have the towel over us so that she bites the towel and not us. I have tried the pulling-on-hairs-on-the-back-of-the-neck trick, and it works but only for a second or two, then she is right back to tearing up her towel. Lucy is very young, we got her @ about 2 months old, and she had been in the pet store for less than two weeks--and we have only had her since July, so she is still settling in with us.
Also, she does NOT seem to enjoy free range time...when we try to let her run free she just runs back under her cage and leaps into the basket that holds all of her things and hides there. She is not my first piggie, but my others were adopted from happy homes and were well used to people, and well used to me before they lived with me, so I don't know how to "raise one from a pup". She does seem to really enjoy being held and petted though. Anyway, I would be grateful for suggestions. Thanks!
