Hi Lisa

I know you are feeling really bad right now, but do
not be too hard on yourself. Since you had a towel
over Flint's cage, that should not have given him
pneumonia.

My guess would be that it was the cold surgery room
and a cool recovery room that did it. He was in a
weakened state and so it set in fast. They do not keep
the rooms that they have animals in very warm. They do
not have towels or pigloos in the cages either.

A lot of pigs do not make it through pneumonia even
when they are taken to the vet quickly. You were
expecting him to act the way he did after surgery, so
you really could not have known it was pneumonia
instead of post surgery stuff. I really doubt that
with pneumonia and surgery that the vet could have
saved him. He just went too fast.
It is a sad thing to go through, but just do not be
too hard on yourself. Our thoughts and prayers are
with you in this tough time.

Dawnda
