Candy,
I am so worried about your Mollie. :-(
I hope the little angel is okay. I think
it's a good idea to stop the Cipro for
a little bit, especially since her last
culture was negative. Now, as for
the rusty-colored urine, hmmmmm...
that's interesting. I don't think the
Shilingtong is causing it though.
Now, a long time ago, Brownie
Bear had that rusty-colored urine,
but a friend of mine who was piggie
sitting her for a couple of days--gave
her an excessive amount of red leaf
lettuce. It was a mystery, but I think
I came to the conclusion that the lettuce
caused the color change. That has only
happened once and never again.
I did take my Brownie Bear off of the
Shilintong the last time she was on antiobiotics
(Baytril) because I remember reading
about someone's Vet who recommended
not giving the Shilingtong while their
pig was on antiobiotics. Now, I have
been giving the Bear both at the same
time for a long time. I just wanted to
try something different this time.
When Brownie Bear's urine is that
bright red/pink color, I usually find
bladder sludge close by. Those (calcium)
crystals irritate the lining of their bladders,
which is why they will bleed. But, there
have been so many times, Candy, when
I see that those blood spots and then the
next day, Brownie is feeling better and
not crying when she urinates. So, I am
HOPING and PRAYING that the same
could be happening to Mollie and maybe
she is trying to pass the stone. Is her
bladder stone a big one? Also, is she
a good candidate for surgery? I know
that surgery is super scary to even think
about, but remember that it is an option.
And you wouldn't be going through it
alone...I promise you that.
Please give that Sweet Mollie some
Extra LOVE from me and my crew.
I'm Praying that your little girl can pass
this evil stone and start feeling better.
I know what you're going through and
it makes me sad. But, at least Mollie
is with you: someone who cares deeply
for her. And I'm sure that in itself makes
her feel better on a daily basis.
Let me know how Mollie is doing when
you get a chance.
Love 'n Wheeeeeeeeeeeeps,
Leah...Slave to Brownie Bear
& Butterscotch :-)
