I was only thinking the other day how nice it was that we'd had about a week
of gpdd's without any of our little pals passing to The Bridge. But then
here we are, with news of brave little Kozmo's passing, plus the obituary to
Muttley from his still-bereft slave.

Marsha, I've posted brief condolences in your Blinkz guestbook, which I had
not discovered before. Muttley looked gorgeous, and as I've said, reminds me
of my favourite Dolly Mixture, Soulage.

Kacee, you say one should not have favourites, but I have always argued that
if one considers ones pets to be people, which I think all gpdd-ers do, then
one is bound to like some more than others. I think the piggies also like
some humans more than others. I think it's okay to have favourites, so long as
all of them know they are loved and all get the same amount of treats and
care.

Kozmo sounds like a little fighter, and you did all you could for her. I
have always maintained that the bond between slave and pig strengthens if the
slave is involved with administering some kind of special care over a period of
time. It is always so hard to say good-bye, but I believe it is even harder
when one has been involved with a long fight to postpone that piggie's
departure.

My heart goes out to both of you, and all others who are coping with sick
piggies or recent bereavements. May it bring you a shred of comfort to know that
far across the ocean in France, a heart has been touched by your stories and
there is someone who shares your sense of loss.

Debbie

"The animal shall not be measured by man. In a world older and more complete
than ours they move finished and complete, gifted with extensions of the
senses we have lost or never attained, living by voices we shall never hear.
They are not brethren, they are not underlings; they are other nations, caught
with ourselves in the net of life and time, fellow prisoners of the splendour
and travail of the earth".
