Hi Kathy
If Ebony's nails have grown a bit long, the quick will be quite far down
the nail too, so you will have to do a series of small trims over time to
get them to a sensible short length without cutting the quick. The quick
will retreat a little over time when the nails are cut shorter. Another
thing you could try is looking at the underneath of the nail; sometimes
you can see it going from solid to "hollow" (like our fingernails growing
clear of the finger), and you can trim the "hollow" part safely. If
Lucky/Clover/Daisy has light coloured toes that might help as a guideline,
but it is better to cut only a little than overdo it.
I find parsley is usually a piggy favourite - with flat leaved parsley for
preference! Chicory is also usually well received. Try chopping veggies
into smaller pieces to encourage eating. Maybe get Ebony's teeth checked
if he is not keen to eat salad, and keep a regular record of his weight
(e.g. weekly).
Best wishes
Kay
