In light of all the sad stories that we've had recently, someone asked that
we post some amusing stories about our piggies. Here's one that just
happened this past week.
Lily and Isabel we're running around the family room floor. I use playpen
fencing to rope off areas of the room where they shouldn't be and it's been
effective up to this point. I was clearing the kitchen table after dinner and
heard what sounded like a very intense conversation between Isabel and Lily
(who long ago earned the title of "Pioneer Pig" because she loves to explore).
I looked up and saw that Lily had managed to find a weak link in the fence
(which has since been remedied) and was saying, "C'mon Izzy, let's explore"
while Isabel was still behind the fence saying "But mommy slave says we
shouldn't go behind the fence." And Lily responding, "Don't worry, I'll bet we'll
still get a veggie treat before bedtime!" It was hysterical to watch because
you could tell the Lily was interested in having her friend explore with
her, while Isabel, refusing to step beyond the barrier, was concerned that Lily
would get into trouble. This went on for some minutes before I told Lily to
come out, which happened without much coaxing, but the look on her face said
"You're no fun, mom".....Then Isabel ran to make sure Lily was O.K. and they
did their little dance.....
And yes, they both got a bit of green pepper.....
