Please keep Lucky in your thoughts and prayers as he goes in tomorrow
(Tues 12/12) for his second stone surgery in a year and half. He seemed
so perky, in good health and full of mischief lately that I thought I
was imagining it when I saw some blood on his bedding last Thursday
night. Within a day he began whimpering and Saturday an x-ray confirmed
another large stone. I feel guilty because in the last 9 months or so I
started letting him have his favorite stuff - dandelion greens, etc. Up
till then I had been trying to control as much as possible his oxalate
intake. The vet still thinks that diet is not determinate, though those
on these lists certainly have other thoughts as I well know. I have
ordered some shilingtong and intend to start using it once he recovers
from surgery. That being said, he is very bad at taking the syringe --
has anyone had any luck feeding it another way ?

I'm a nervous wreck, I feel so bad putting him through this again but
can't let him suffer with the stone. Once I took him to the vet for the
x-ray and started his antibiotic and metacam, it was almost like he
realized he was sick and started acting worse then before we went to the
vet. He has taken to the fluffed up meatloaf posture which I remember
all too well from the last time he had the stone.

Please keep all piggy toes crossed for the Luckmeister.

Merle
