Jo -
I'm so sorry that you're going through changes with your Lucy piggy. This was my experience:
My beloved Sundae pig was diagnosed with ovarian cysts. My vet does not like to do surgery on piggies (he used to have pigs of his own) and I respect his judgement.
With no further treatment, Sundae lived at least a year longer, and enjoyed every day of her life, even when she could hardly walk, admittedly, that was up to her last few days.
In short, I let her have as much time as possible, and she put it to good use - eating like a pig.
I did not regret my decision.
You have to listen to your heart, and you will decide what is best for you and your piggy. Good luck.
