Baytril can cause diarrhoea in guinea pigs. A solution of Bio Lapis may
help. The following comes from the best pet pharmacy website:
"Protexin BIO-LAPIS for Rabbits & Small Pets is a concentrated soluble
powder containing Protexin (probiotic), Profeed (prebiotic), enzymes,
electrolyes and vitamins to help quickly restore the gut microflora in
rabbits and other small pets. Useful during periods of stress and Critical
Care, such as following gut infections and disturbances, surgery and
anaesthesia." Mix up a fresh solution every day, but syringe rather than
add to food or water, then you know how much piggy actually takes.

Alternatively, your vet might consider changing to another antibiotic
suitable for guinea pigs, such as Marbocyl (which is related to Baytril).

It is better not to give yogurt or Bio Lapis until about half an hour
after the antibiotic, so they don't cancel each other out.
