Hello my fellow slaves.  I am embarrassed to say that this is my first time I post in the gpdd after 5 years of membership.  I had in the past emailed people directly with help. I felt compelled to reply to Sandi and the passing of Rusti Mae. I have to say that your story hits home. I had to put down my sweet little piggie Twinky on December 21st. Twinky was her own self until she began losing weight. Alarmed I took her to the vet where he determined that she had a mass on her jaw/cheek area. After the X-rays came back inconclusive, we waiting for the results of the needle biopsy. I was then confronted with my worst fear. My baby Twinky was suffering from lymphosarcoma and I knew that I had to take her in the day that she did not lift her head up, drank or ate. It is the most painful experience I had to endure with my 5 furry babies. The worst wasn't over yet. I had to have a tonsillectomy on December 28th due to obstructive sleep apnea (I am 35 years of age) and even though I knew it would be painful, I had no idea how bad it would get. I was emotionally and physically drained when the night of New Year's I lost my Gizmo suddenly. I felt like I wasn't going to be able to take it anymore. I have no idea what was wrong with him. I knew he was between 4 and 5. I rescued him from the Humane Society with an open wound on his back, a broken tooth and a wooden splinter on his lower lip. He was obviously coming from an abusive home. The HS had no information on him, they only knew he was an adult male. Between 11 days I lost 2 piggies and I had surgery. So I can totally sympathize with all the cavy slaves that had endure a loss.

I am left with one boy and 2 girls. One of the girls came home with Twinky the day of my birthday. Punky is fast approaching 5 and I can see how she is deteriorating so I want to rescue another baby girl to let her bond with Kokopeli before Punky decides to take the trip to join her buddies Twinky and Gizmo. I am in the process of finding one.
