Thinking about the sad case of the mouse in the hay, I would certainly
recommend that the rest of the hay in the bag isn't used. One possible
scenario is that the mouse might have ingested some poison (such as
warfarin), died, and then got caught up in the hay equipment. I have
heard that piggies could be at risk from hay that has been urinated on by
mice/rats that have ingested warfarin, so complain to the place where you
got the hay, they could be putting pets at risk. Sadly, there's nothing
you can do for the little mouse now, but you need to protect your own and
others' little piggies. Maybe there is a Trading Standards Office where
you could report the incident?

Best wishes

Kay
