Oh no, we seem to be going through another spate of sad departures to the
Rainbow Bridge, and every sad story brings tears to my eyes, as I am sure is
true of everyone who reads them.

Susan, you wrote a lovely obituary for your little Mattie, and he was
obviously quite a character. Six is a very good age for a piggie, and he obviously
enjoyed a full, active and blissful life with you and his piggie companions.
I'm so sorry he became ill towards the end, but you know you did all you
could for him, and he will have known that as well - he knew he was a very much
loved piggie. Guess it was just time for him to rejoin his wife and daughter,
and they will wait for you now in the sunfilled dandelion meadows until you
can all cross the Rainbow Bridge together.

I can't imagine how it must feel to lose ones very last piggie. As you may
know, I still have 16, and they are all creeping up to the 3 - 4 year old mark.
It breaks my heart when any of them pass on, but to lose the very last ...
it must be truly heartwrenching. I wonder if another couple will worm their
way onto your lives before long ... sometimes I think the piggies that have
gone "steer" new ones towards us. Piggie slavery always brings deep pain when
the time comes to part, but I do feel it is outweighed by the joy of sharing
ones life with these exquisite little creatures.

Please take some comfort in the fact that others care and share your grief

Debbie (and the Dolly Mixtures)
