I really think you should probably be changing for clean fresh water every day.

We had a piggy who would always drink whilst chewing stuff, and it
would work up inside the bottles in the end. Maybe that's the case for
you too. I've also noticed that eventually the bottles reach a point
where they can't be cleaned properly, and have to be replaced.
