Hi, Sydney and welcome to the wonderful world of the GPDD. We're all great people here and I am sure you're going to fit in just fine.
I was reading your post and saw you were asking about toys, and I am the queen of floor time activity (we call is All Floors Day at my house), so I have some great ideas.
    1. Get a stool or a small chair. Fold a towel and tuck it between the legs to make a little mattress then drape a towel over the seat. Kind of like one of those tents you used to make when you were a kid. My girls love it! They'll play peek-a-boo with the towel and run circles through the legs.
    2. Buy a couple of tubes for them to go through, or make some. I have an old bamboo place mat that I curled up and sinched with one of those clips you use for chip bags. They'll dash in and out of that thing all day. You can buy ready-made ones too that are covered in veggie paper. The only reason I stopped getting them was that my girls were cutting up their lips on it.
    3. Balls with bells inside. My girls like to rearrange their furniture, so blocks and the balls with the bells inside are great. They'll push them around and wheek along to the jingle. You have to watch them with these, though, because they might break some part off and eat it.
    4. If you want to entertain yourself and give your chunky piggies a little exercise, get a toddler toy bus (you know, the ones that don't have a top to it) and fill it with their favorite treat. Mine like hay or greens. Since it's on wheels, those guineas have to earn that treat and it's hours of fun for Mom too. :) Let me tell you, those little buggers get pretty inventive. I've had Pooky sit on the hood while Blacky pulled out the hay from the back!
    5. Super-Deluxe Mega Maze. OKay, this one of for special occasions and is a little harder to put together, but believe me, it's worth it. First, you get a whole bunch of different size boxes and cartons (I either get them from work or Aldi, but most retailers will give you boxes if you want them). You cut off one side so that you can look into the boxes and then you cut tunnels on the bottom side. Now for the fun! Get some shredded paper and put it at the bottom of one box. Put a soft folded towel on the bottom of another. Put a half-filled hot water bottle under a towel in another. Cut milk or juice cartons to different heights and lay them on the floor of another box so it's like they're climbing. Hang chickory sticks, bells, veggies, pet mirrors, and bunches of hay from the walls. You can even cut holes to make little windows.Once everything is together and to your liking, put your babies inside and watch the fun! It shouldn't have doors to the outside, so you don't have to watch them every minute, and they'll have a blast! The cool thing is clean up is a breeze and you can deconstruct the boxes and save them for next time. Pretty cool, huh? Mine will spend entire days in their SDMM and cry when it's time to "go home". It's like a Guinea Chucky Cheese.
So, I hope you got some good ideas. Have fun!
Love, Amber and the Guinea Girls Pooky & Blacky
