Hi everyone. I use toilet or paper towel tubes all the time. I fill them
with hay and other goodies, and the girls love them. I would be more
concerned about plastic and the chemical breakdown. I know BooBooBearHare
loves paper crumbled into a ball. She picks it up and throws it around and
popcorns and runs after it. It is a hoot. One thing I did learn, and I
will pass this on at the risk of getting a few "what were you thinking" I
have Boo in a glass enclosure, and am able to put a heating pad on low under
her bed area and she stays nice and toasty. I only have it on at night and
make sure that she cannot get the cord or any other part of it. Well, I had
the same idea with Fugly, but I put it in a pillow case under a carpet
swatch, cause she has a wire bottom cage and I use carpet under her. I went
to check on her the next day, and she had chewed up under the carpet, and
had chewed most of the plastic away and exposed wires. Well. lesson
learned. Fugs gets to get an extra cover instead. Luckily no one was
injured. I know I know but I was only trying to keep her warm. Never
underestimated the chewing power of the pig!!!!! Dawna, thankful
edumacated slave to BooBooBearHare and the wirechewing Fugly. D
