  I'm not sure exactly what this is, but one of my boars, Pinky, has the very same thing. I don't think it's mites (at least not in Pinky's case) because I do a topical Ivermectin treatment on my pigs every 6 months or so. When it got really bad at one point, I thought it might be allergies and gave him children's Benadryl. That seemed to help for a while. I would also bathe him every few months with an Oatmeal & Aloe Shampoo and Creme Rinse (from Earthbath--they have awesome pet products!). We have recently moved from Maryland to North Carolina and his skin has gotten better--maybe he has improved because it's not so dry here. If you don't mind your piggies smelling like Patchouli --and giving extra baths-- you could try Peter Gurney's essential oil treatment. I have used it for mites with good results.
