Hello everyone,

Kira you mentioned something about Gomez' eye issues but what you said about Gomez' eye sure does not sound like glaucoma! Glacucoma is where the vitreous fluid builds up inside the eye and pressure builds and builds and can be associated with a cataract but not always.

Once glaucoma is diagnosed, it is a lifelong condition and cannot be cured and it affects the whole eyeball, not just half. It is also diagnosed with the use of a tonometer or tonopen to measure the pressure of the eyeball.

Glaucoma is very serious and painful and increases the likelihood for the eyeball to come out of the socket or to rupture. Tabby has glaucoma issues so I am pretty well versed on the subject nowadays...

But the cloudiness of the surface of an eye is probably due to an injury. Usually a cataract in a pig you can't see until you shine a light into their eye and look through their little pupils.

If there is an injury, just be careful what you put into it. Don't put anything into that has any sort of steroid in it like dexamethasone or prednisolone or anything like that in it. It will inhibit healing.

  Take care!
