[Gpdd] [Health] Vitamin C supplements

Hi everyone,

I took Zephyr to the vet today because his skin has been ultra dry as well
as scaly and scabby, and he has been scratching a lot. I was worried he had
mites or some sort of fungus. Our vet thinks that it's because he hasn't
been getting enough Vitamin C since we don't give him any supplements. We
feed him fresh veggies (usually red pepper, dill, parsley and romaine) twice
a day and there is vitamin C pre-added to his pellets. I had thought this
was a good enough way to supply Vitamin C, especially since a number of the
websites I consulted say not to add Vitamin C to water. Our vet insists we
must add a supplement to the water bottle and she said Zephyr is very
deficient and this is causing his skin to be so dry and itchy. She is
basing this only on the condition of his skin as his feet are totally fine.
Now I'm just confused! Should I buy a Vitamin C liquid to add to their
water, should I buy chewable Vitamin C tablets from a Health Food Store, or
should I buy Vitamin C liquid from a Health Food Store....or is there
something else I need to do? Or is there something else that could be
wrong? She did a thorough check for mites and couldn't find any.

A very confused Laura, an itchy and dry skinned Zephyr, & Felix
