Glynis -

I don't have any practical advice (but I see you got some from Penny at least), but I just wanted to send hugs and support for what you are going through.

It sounds very much like my first piggy, Taffy. She was great, and had been for the roughly 3 years I had her, and then all of a sudden one day she wasn't. I took her to the vet, admittedly not a piggy specialist, and she said, she doesn't look like a sick animal to me. I said, but she's not behaving normally, she looks like she's blind or disoriented or something. The vet gave me some antibiotic to syringe Taffy (she said, I'm doing this more for you than for her, but in a kind way.....), and told me how to syringe her softened pellet food. I did all this for a few more days, but Taffy really just faded away.

I always suspected that she had had a stroke, but of course there's no way to tell. And, yes, it must just have been her time.

So, I can't give any more help than this, to say I've walked a mile in your moccasins, and I wish you the best, and peace and comfort in your heart. Your animals know how much you love them, and how you do your best for them, and they are grateful with all the might of their little furry hearts. You make their lives wonderful every day, and we all have the time that we have, and try to circulate as much love as possible. Give generously and accept graciously. It's never wasted. I know you know this.
