Hi Pam. This is just a suggestion but if you are concerned about little Amos's weight, you might contact your vet (or go online) and get some Critical Care. Just mix it up with a little canned pumpkin or baby food squash and make little balls out of the mixture. He just might eat it and it will help put weight back on him. I assume you're weighing him daily while he's on the Baytril. It doesn't sound as though he needs to be syringed at this point. Be sure he gets lots and lots and lots of hay.

BTW, something I noticed just by chance when I had the Bug on Oxbow timothy pellets. She would eat them half-heartly. One day I smelled them and they have a lot of licorice in them. I switched brands and she just devours the new ones. She does not like licorice anything, some mints, dill, etc. Just an observation for any piggies who do not like the Oxbow.

Hope this helps. Joan, slave to The Lady Bug

My piggie Amos has been a little under the weather. He's on Baytril for ten days, and his appetite is improving. He has lost a little weight, the vet isn't too worried about it though. I've been giving him extra pellets ( Oxbow timothy ) pellets aren't his favorite food though. My question is does anyone know what other foods I can give him too add a little weight to his piggie self. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated !
