[Gpdd] Health - toilet problems

Hi Jem. Scary isn't it when they all of a sudden stop drinking water? The Lady Bug is almost 4 1/2 years old and shortly after her 4th birthday decided she wasn't going to drink water anymore either. Panic set in with me and I immediately took her to her vet. He told me that it is not uncommon for GP's to never drink water and further research on my part has born this out. Do keep giving them lots and lots of lettuce. You're right, this is where they are getting fluids. I still give the Bug a bottle of fresh water every night which is never touched.

As for the brown spots-when urine dries it often dries brown which is normal. It would seem that George & Fletcher have different eating habits from Crockett & Tubbs so that might account for the difference. Personally, I would contact their vet just to be sure there is nothing going on but, I admit, I'm paranoid when it comes to the Bug.

If George & Fletcher are not eating any pellets this is not good as a good quality pellet helps supply all the vitamins and minerals including C that GP's need every day. As I said, contact their vet and discuss these issues with them. It could head off any further problems.

  Hope this helps.

Hi everyone

Its me again - I am very worried about my two little boys George and
Fletcher. They don't seem to be drinking any of their water - I change it
everyday and not a drop has been touched, this has been going on since I got
them 3 weeks ago. They do eat a lot of lettuce (and nothing much else as
they turn their little noses up at it) so I am hoping they are getting their
water from that.

Also, I have noticed on their towels which I use in their indoor run at
night have large dark brown stains on them - I have never noticed this on
Crockett & Tub's towels, you can hardly see where they have been toilet.

I have been trying to see if they are straining when they go toilet as I am
worried it could be kidney stones, but I never seem to catch them when they
are doing their business - should I be worried about this? They are only
babies and I am so worried it could be serious.

Thanks for listening

Jem, Crockett, Tubs, George and Fletcher xx
