Dear GPDD digest members and all those who have written personally to me
with advice on care of my darling Archie, sending your wishes and
prayers and friendship. I feel indeed very honoured to belong to such a
caring and very large & extended family!

I have good news for you all! Archie is going strong - so all prayers
have been answered. He's so good now he's back to his cheeky self
where he will give me a nip if I try to clean his poos out of his home!!

It was touch & go for 2 weeks - and what an exhausting & worrying 2
weeks. I went away for a week's break and took Archie with me and gave
him lots of tender loving care, heaps of attention, lots of Critical
Care and lots & lots & lots of love & cuddles. I honestly believe
that it was the Critical Care that saved Archie's life. It's only
recently been allowed to be imported into Australia (minus a couple of
ingredients which are against Quarantine regulations). I noticed a very
slight improvement in Archie the morning after I gave him his first feed
of Critical Care. I continued with the anti-fungal drops for another
week; but when his poos became so sloppy I decided to stop the
antibiotics early, praying I wasn't doing the wrong thing by my boy.
I was soooo excited when I saw him taking his first tentative nibble of
grass. His mouth was still sore, so I rolled little bits of grass or
clover into a ball and put into the back of his mouth so he could chew
that and get some solid foods, but I kept on with Critical Care
consistently - even after he was totally back to normal, just to make
sure he was getting all necessary vitamins, etc.

The one positive thing about the whole experience was that Archie & I
have really "bonded", even moreso than previously. I am one happy
slave! I just wish I could cuddle both my boys at the one time, but
Dougall is my dominant male and I have to keep him away from the others.

I'm in the process of creating a blinkz website, and will post the web
address when it's all completed. Unfortunately, I thought I had it
completed just now, only I hit the wrong button - the delete button
thinking I was only deleting photos but all the story went with it!!

Thank you again to all members of the Digest for your caring and prayers
and for your friendship.

Julie
Willing slave to Archie and Dougall
Teddy and Muppet part of my heart and soul forever.
